Seidor grows by 20% and consolidates its expansion plan

The multinational consulting firm ended the 2016 financial year with total turnover of EUR 310 million, surpassing its target of 300 million.

Barcelona, 21 February, 2017

Seidor, the multinational consulting firm specialising in technological services and solutions, ended 2016 with a total turnover of €310 million, almost 20% more than the previous financial year, which has enabled it to keep its annual growth rate in double figures.

These results highlight the fact that 2016 was an excellent year for Seidor. We succeeded in surpassing the goals we set and have laid new foundations for future growth, such as the Seidor Digital and Seidor Labs initiatives. Our strategy for the diversification of the business and our commitment to international expansion will mean we continue to grow at a good pace in the coming years,” said Eduard Farga, the company's Deputy Managing Director. Accordingly, the company has set itself the target of passing the €350 million mark in sales in 2017.

During 2016, Seidor hired 600 new staff worldwide, 300 of them in Spain, and expects to continue growing its workforce this year at a rate similar to the previous year. The company currently employs over 3,600 highly qualified professionals worldwide providing services to over 7,000 customers.

For 2017, the strategic priorities will continue to be the diversification of the business via digitisation (Seidor Digital) and innovation (Seidor Labs) as well as the commitment to global expansion. In addition, Ferran Latorre will use Seidor technology to climb the world's highest mountain in spring.

International Commitment

Growth in new markets is key for Seidor. Today, the company is present in 26 countries across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa; with sales in international markets accounting for 36% of total turnover.

Seidor has announced it will continue to strengthen its international presence. In 2016, an important milestone was its acquisition of Bluekey, a South African firm specialising in business solutions, with over 700 customers and 145 employees. Seidor hopes this acquisition will help consolidate its presence in Africa, a vital continent for the company's future growth, and where it began operating in 2015 with the opening of an affiliate in Morocco.

Innovate to grow: Seidor Labs

In December 2016, Seidor opened its new Seidor labs head office in Tona (Barcelona), the technological innovation centre from which the company develops projects related to the Internet of things, computer vision, immersive environments and e-health solutions, among others. Among Seidor labs' plans for 2017, is the keynote project “Seidor on top” whereby the consulting firm is equipping mountain climber Ferran Latorre in his 14x18,000 challenge (climbing the world's 14 highest peaks without using oxygen). In spring, Ferran Latorre will set off on his expedition to the summit of Everest, the last peak left to complete the challenge. In this adventure, he will have the support of Seidor hi-tech equipment: a sophisticated monitoring system to track the climber enabling geolocation, while knowing the environmental variables and also his vital signs almost in real time, thanks to the SAP cloud platform and satellite communications. The technology supplied by Seidor will offer a unique experience for fans of this sport, as well as the opportunity to collect data for several biomedical high-altitude studies.

Collaboration with ESADE to train executives in digitization

One of Seidor's main objectives in its continued growth is its commitment to digital transformation. According to Farga, “We aim to become the go-to partner for driving digital transformation in small and medium-sized enterprises.” Among the initiatives for 2017 to achieve this, a major step is the creation of an executive training programme in digitisation in collaboration with ESADE and Penteo.

Recognition from partners

Seidor is one of the leading service partners of SAP, Microsoft, IBM and a long list of prestigious manufacturers. In 2016, it won awards from a number of these, including: SAP Pinnacle Award 2016 in the category of best added value services distributor worldwide; Best Partner in Volume of Sales of SAP Business One Licences in Spain; Best Sales Figures in New Full SAP Licences; IBM Award for Innovation in New Business Models; and the Huawei Partner of the Year Award, among others.
